Rodent Facility
The IGC Rodent Facility consists of five independent units,
- One Production facility (barrier),
- One Experimental facility (barrier),
- One Experimental facility (conventional),
- One Quarantine (barrier),
- One Germ-free facility *
It ensures the breeding and housing of more than 100 different mouse strains that are available to the scientific staff for research purposes.
* The germ-free facility is open to the international community, through the EMMA consortium (www.emmanet.org)
As services, the IGC Animal Facility may provide:
- Research opportunities for external investigators/institutions
- Rederivation of mouse lines into Specific Pathogen Free conditions*
- In vitro fertilization
- Cryopreservation of mouse germplasm
