Champalimaud Foundation Neuroscience Programme at the IGC
(Programa de Investigação em Neurociências da Fundação Champalimaud no IGC)
The Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme (CNP) is a basic research team with the broad aim of understanding brain function through integrative biological approaches. CNP laboratories are using advanced molecular, physiological and imaging techniques to elucidate the function of neural circuits and systems in behaviour using animal models including Drosophila, mouse, rat and zebrafish. As of December 2009 the CNP comprises 10 independent research groups, including 5 in-house PIs, 3 Research Fellows and 2 associated External PIs. The CNP also organizes the International Neuroscience Doctoral Programme (INDP). The CNP was created in 2007 through a collaborative agreement between the Fundação Champalimaud and the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.
In-house Principal Investigators:
Rui Costa (Neurobiology of Action)
Marta Moita (Behavioural Neuroscience)
Zach Mainen (Systems Neuroscience)
Luisa Vasconcelos (Innate behaviour)
Carlos Ribeiro (Behaviour and Metabolism)
