"SOLIDÁRIOS ATÉ À MEDULA" fundraising television marathon

A major fundraising event, "SOLIDÁRIOS ATÉ À MEDULA", is to be shown live on Portuguese television. This event was developed by “Associação  Portuguesa Contra a Leucemia”, a Portuguese leukaemia charity, together with the IGC and  with the public TV channel, RTP1. The important aims of this initiative are to raise awareness and private funds for cancer research in Portugal, in particular for research into blood cancers.

This television marathon includes a live broadcast of the annual APCL concert, other musical performances, testimonials by scientists, medical doctors and patients and other initiatives across different regions of Portugal. The event "Mexa-se na Marginal" and the football game "Sporting Solidário" between celebrities and scientists from different institutions are other activities developed to bring together the widest possible range of participants.

The support of the IGC scientific community and that of other Portuguese research institutions is essential to the success of this initiative.
