Communicating Scientific Research 2010
- What should you do when a journalist calls?
- How should you debate your research with the general audience?
- Would you like to attract students into your research field?
These are some of the question that we will explore between 18-20 January during the workshop "Communicating Scientific Research 2010".
At this workshop you will:
- Write a press release and get practical guidance on interacting with the media;
- Be interviewed on camera;
- Learn to explore the Internet and social networks to communicate your research;
- Develop your very own outreach project, based on dialogue and debate with real audiences.
Registration:
Numbers are limited to 18 participants.
Researchers in any career stage, from natural, social sciences, engineering and medicine are encouraged to apply, to do so please send an e-mail with your CV and a statement of motivation to: comunicarciencia2010@igc.gulbenkian.pt
Registration fee: 120 Euro (includes lunches, coffee breaks and workshop pack; does not cover travel or accommodation)
Registration deadline: 5th of January 2010 (selected participants will be notified by 8 January)
Faculty
Journalists, science communicators, broadcasters, and researchers, based in the UK, Portugal and Spain, constitute the faculty of this workshop. All the faculty members have a large experience in science communication and/or training scientists in science communication.
